In the NFL, the Game Statistical and Information System (GSIS), records every play of every game and its outcome. Once collected this data is converted into NFL statistics such as passing yards, rushing yards, touchdowns, penalties, sacks, etc. However, the term "doink," which refers to a field goal or extra point attempt that hits the upright or crossbar, is not an officially tracked statistic. When this occurs, the official game statistic lists the attempt as a miss - not a “doink.”
